Our client runs a successful and busy optometry practice in Timaru, and they need a new team member to come on board and undertake a range of duties that contribute to the smooth running of the business on a day-to-day basis.

 

The Optical Assistant will be trained in, and responsible for, the following duties:

  • Reception and customer service - by phone, email, and in person
  • Making appointment bookings
  • Retail sales and enquiries
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy office and consulting rooms
  • Once trained, helping customers choose frames
  • Once trained, undertaking minor repairs and fitting lenses to frames

 

This role is for 2 days per week, working from 10 am to 2 pm.

We are also looking for someone who can cover holiday and sick leave as required  - this would be from 8.30 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, and for a total of 3 - 4 weeks each year (spread throughout the year).
